Processed personal data
The scope and type of the processed personal data is dependent on the nature of our relationship with you.
Our website can, as a matter of principle, be visited without registering. When you access our website data such as the pages viewed, i.e. the name of the file accessed, the date and time, are stored on the server for statistical purposes, without this data being immediately linked to your person.
Personal data, in particular name, address or e-mail address are collected, as far as possible, on a voluntary basis. If you have provided us with corresponding personal data, we will process the content of sponsorship applications and other communication data (in particular e-mails).
We do not monitor your behaviour, nor do we subject you to a decision based on automatic processing.
Our website automatically collects and stores information in so-called server logfiles which your browser sends to us automatically. These are:
- Browser type and browser version
- Operating system used
- Referrer URL
- Hostname of the accessing computer
- Time of the server request
This data cannot be allocated to a specific person. This data is not combined with other data sources. However, we reserve the right to examine this data retroactively if we become aware of concrete indices for unlawful use.
Purpose of the processing
We use personal data in order to provide a functioning website and its content for our communication with you.
We process the personal data which you make available to us within the framework of a sponsorship application insofar as this data relates to the checking of and decision on applications, or is necessary for the execution of a corresponding project sponsorship.
Basis of the processing
The processing of your personal data for the purposes mentioned herein is based, amongst other things, on our justified interest in the maintenance of communication on our project sponsorships and other services as well as the execution of the project sponsorship and other services (incl. operation of the website), insofar as you have provided your consent or another basis for the lawful processing of your personal data in accordance with applicable law applies.
Your personal data will be used by us and our carefully selected IT providers, which are obliged to protect your personal data to the same extent as ourselves. Furthermore, the use, i.e., access to your personal data, is restricted to those persons who require it. We do not sell or pass on your personal data to third parties unless you have consented in advance, this is required in accordance with applicable law or if we have an overriding interest to disclose your personal data in the individual case.
We employ suitable technical and organisational measures and strive, in cooperation with our hosting providers, to protect the databases as best as possible from accidental or deliberate manipulation, access by third parties, disclosure, loss, damage or destruction, misuse or falsification.
Our security measures are continually improved in accordance with technological developments and are in compliance with applicable data protection law. Amongst other things, our website employs SSL/TLS encryption to protect the transfer of confidential content. You can recognize an encrypted connection when the address line in your browser switches from “http: //” to https:// and on the basis of the lock symbol in your browser line. When the SSL, i.e. TLS encryption is active the data which you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
However, data transmission in the Internet (e.g. communication via e-mail) is never completely secure. A seamless protection of your personal data is not possible and all transfers of your personal data to us are conducted at your own risk.
We grant you all the rights which are granted to you under applicable data protection law. In particular, insofar as these are granted by applicable law, you have the right:
• to know which personal data concerning your person we process;
• to demand the correction or supplementation of your personal data, should it be incorrectly or incompletely reproduced;
• to demand the deletion of your personal data, or in certain cases, a temporary restriction on its processing;
• to object to the processing of your personal data;
• under certain circumstances, to receive your personal data in machine-readable form and pass it on to another provider;
• to withdraw your consent, insofar as our processing is based on your consent.
If you have any questions concerning data protection or are not satisfied with our processing of your personal data, please write us an e-mail addressed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
